BROAD STREET REVIEW
Praised by Opera News for her “impassioned singing”, Polish-American coloratura soprano Alexandra Nowakowski returns to The Metropolitan Opera for the 24/25 season to cover Olympia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann as well as Gilda in Rigoletto. She will tour in Spain in the spring (company TBA) singing the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. To round off the year, she joins the LA Opera for the first time to cover Gilda in Rigoletto. She also joins the Conciertos en la Cuevona de Ardines for a solo recital. In between contracts, Alexandra dedicates her time to her personal project The Opera Kitchen, a private dinner experience bringing opera to new audiences.
In the 23/24 season, Alexandra made her European debut as the title role in Manon with Ópera de Oviedo. A passionate ambassador of Polish art song, she brought mixed programs to various venues with Polish pianist Michał Biel, including the Palau de la Música, the Lied Festival Life Victoria, and Carnegie Hall’s Citywide Concert Series. She joined Francesco Cholbi in recital for the Sociedad de Conciertos de Alicante and Astral Artists for her farewell recital with pianist Luke Housner. Alexandra was also the featured soprano soloist in a series of concerts with the Orquestra El Miracle in Catalunya, featured on Catalan radio & television. Alexandra is supported by the Fundación Ópera Actual.
